Join us September 9, 2023 for the 52nd running of one of the oldest and most scenic races in Michigan. Early Fall is the best time of year to run or walk the perimeter of Mackinac Island, where you will enjoy sparkling water, spectacular views and historic sites! 

Please Note Start Time:  We are returning to our traditional 9:30 start!

The Island is a unique destination that can only be reached by ferry.  Step back in time to a bygone era where travel is done by foot, bicycle, carriage or horse. With up to 2,000 runners and walkers, the Mackinac Island Eight Mile is definitely a race you and your family will never forget!

All Participants receive a commemorative shirt and finisher medal!

Enjoy the beautiful shoreline of beautiful Mackinac Island for fun or competition - walkers of all fitness levels are welcome. Age group awards are presented in this event, therefore you MUST walk the entire race to be eligible. If you intend to run/jog any portion of the course, please enter the 8 Mile Run. Note: An $8.00 Mackinac Island State Park Assessment fee is included in your registration fee.
