2022 Mackinac Island Fort2Fort 5 Mile Challenge

Register for 2022 Mackinac Island Fort2Fort 5 Mile Challenge

A unique event celebrating Fort Holmes and Fort Mackinac on Historic Mackinac Island to help support the efforts of Mackinac Historic State Parks!  Now in it's 5th year, this challenging race is for runners and walkers of all ages and will be one to remember!  Start outside Fort Mackinac  to run or walk through beautiful paved trails,  past historic Island landmarks to Fort Holmes—the highest point of the Island—then travel the scenic paved trails back to finish at Fort Mackinac!

All participants will receive FREE ENTRY to Fort Mackinac and other Mackinac Island attractions throughout the day, plus a great shirt and a unique burnt wood medal!

Can't make it to the Island on May 14th? Or not comforable with an In-Person race but want to support the MHSP? Join us in the 2022 Virtual Run!  You will receive the bib, shirt, medal and free Fort Mackinac pass, and can upload your virtual race time to the results page.

To allow for social distancing and a safe event, the Fort2Fort In-Person race will have a rolling start from 8:00 a.m to 9:30 a.m. (start mats will be active the entire time). Participants will start when they arrive, at their own convenience, and are asked to leave the finish area after they've received their post race snacks and picked up their shirts.

To ease congestion in the start/finish area, please arrive only when you are ready to begin the race and plan to leave after.  We encourage those already on the Island to take advantage of the early start times to accommodate those arriving via the Ferries.

In-Person race bibs will be picked up at the Pavilion prior to the race.  Shirts may be picked up at that time or after the race.  All Virtual registrants will receive their bib, shirt and medal via USPS.

Note: Covid 19 guidelines will be monitored to ensure the race is in compliance at the time of the event.  Participants will be notified as soon as possible if any adjustments/accommodations need to be made.

Thanks for your help in making this a safe and fun event!
